At Destinations RV Rentals we want to make your RV rental vacation as hassle-free as possible. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions by other RV rental customers:

Is everything included in the rental price?

Yes! At Destinations RV Rentals we include all of the items you will need for your RV vacation. We believe that the cost of your vacation is the last thing you need to be thinking about, so at Destinations RV Rentals, we have NO HIDDEN FEES. We have researched RV vacations to ensure that when you rent from Destinations RV Rentals, you have everything you need to enjoy your time. We guarantee that you will have enough supplies to last throughout your vacation.

What do I need to bring?

• Sleeping bags if using bunks or dinette for sleeping

Is the insurance included?

Yes. All of the insurance for your RV rental is included in your daily/weekly rate. If damage to the unit occurs, the only responsibility that you would have is the $1000 security deposit.

How new are the motorhomes and travel trailers?

All of the RV’s at Destinations RV Rentals are brand new, 2011 models. We pride ourselves on having a clean, modern fleet of the newest units in New England RV rentals. Once the motorhome or travel trailer has been rented for one season it is replaced by a brand new unit.

Are they clean?

Yes! All of the Destinations RV Rentals motorhomes and travel trailers go through a 4-step cleaning process performed by an image and deodorizing company that is also owned by the Doty’s. All of the cleaning products are bacteria based with non-sensitizing essential oils, therefore none of the rental customers will be allergic to the motorhomes or travel trailers.

How many miles are included in my rent?

Destinations RV Rentals offers unlimited mileage within New England (ME, VT, MA, CT, and RI) and Eastern Canada. If your vacation destination takes you outside of New England and Eastern Canada, then you will receive 1000 free miles per week, with any additional miles costing $.50/mile.

How many people can I take?

The number of people will depend on the type of RV that you rent. If you are renting a motorhome, you can only take as many people as there are seat belts for - this is a state law and we must comply. Most of the motorhomes have seat belts for 6-8 people with sleeping for the same amount. Please see the individual descriptions of the motorhomes and travel trailers for more specific details.

Can I bring a pet?

Yes. You are allowed to bring a pet on your RV vacation, however there is a $100 charge so that we can deodorize the unit after your rental to remove any pet dander/odor. You will be held responsible for any pet-related damages that occur.

Can I smoke in the travel trailers or motorhomes?

No. We have a strict non-smoking policy for all of our units. If we detect a smoke smell when the unit is returned, we will charge at least $150 for odor removal.

Do I need a special license to drive a rental RV?

No. Your standard driver’s license is legal for driving an RV in the United States. The only requirement is that you must be 25 years or older, and have a clean driving record.

Can I tow behind a Destinations RV Rentals Motorhome?

No. Our insurance company does not allow our customers to tow anything behind the motorhomes due to the way that it changes the operation of the unit. We will be glad to assist you however we can in moving any item that you would have towed.

Can I tow Destinations RV Rentals travel trailers?

You can tow the pop-up camper and 15’ travel trailer models if you choose. Otherwise, we deliver the 26’, 30’, and 36’ models to your desired location.

How is the rental day calculated?

Destinations RV Rentals calculates the “Day” as each night that you spend in the motorhome or travel trailer. If you rent a motorhome for a week, this would mean that you spend 7 nights in the motorhome. Example: Your RV vacation begins on Friday afternoon and ends on the following Friday morning.

Do you pick up/drop off at the airport, bus and train station?

Yes. We will pick up and drop off any motorhome rental customer at the Portland International Jetport and Portland Transportation Center, minimizing the need for any other source of transportation.

Where are you located?

Destinations RV Rentals is located in Portland, Maine. We are 1.5 hours from Boston, MA in the Southern part of the state of Maine. We are also within 5 miles from the Portland International Jetport and 1 mile from the interstate.

Is there any tax?

No. At Destinations RV Rentals we pay the tax up front on the units. Our customers do not have to worry about paying tax on their Maine RV rental vacation.

Do the rates change?

No. Unlike many other rental companies that frequently change their rates, at Destinations RV Rentals we keep the rates consistent throughout each year.
